The 2023 DTM grid is almost complete, with returnees such as 2022 champion Sheldon van der Linde and new comers Jack Aitken and Thierry Vermeulen already announced.
Vast majority of the slots on the 2023 DTM grid are already occupied, with 6 different manufacturers continuing in the championship newly branded under ADAC. It is the third season in which the championship will race with GT3 cars as opposed to touring cars as the name of the championship suggests.
Audi will run only 3 cars this year. Team Abt Sportsline will have the same lineup as last year, but only with 2 cars. Kelvin van der Linde and Ricardo Feller continue with the German team, but Rene Rast left Audi all together to join BMW. Liqui Moly team Engstler have yet to announce their driver in their one car entry.
Schubert Motorsport will run two BMW M4 GT3 cars this year. Reigning champion Sheldon van der Linde continues with the team, alsongside Rene Rast, who will miss certain races due to clashes with his commitments in Formula E, in those cases, Dries Vanthoor will substitute for the DTM superstar. Project 1 Motorsport, the other team running BMW's, only announces Marco Wittmann. The second driver should be announced soon.
Three different teams will race with Mercedes AMG GT3s; Team HRT, Team Winward and Team Landgraf, with all having Mercedes factory support and at least one factory driver per team. Luca Stolz and Arjun Maini will race for HRT, same as last year. Team Winward will also have the same lineup, David Schumacher and Lucas Auer, 2021 DTM champion Maxi Gotz will not be racing in DTM this year. Team Landgraf competed in the GT Masters in 2021 and 2022, winning the drivers championship with Raffaele Marciello winning the championship.

Toksport WRT, KUS Team Bernhard and Manthey EMA will all race with the fourth and final German manufacturer in DTM, Porsche. Heinemann and Engelhart will race for TOKsport WRT, Guven and Heinrich for KUS Team Bernhard and Olsen and Preining for Manthey EMA.
Team AF Corse is leaving the championship but Emil Frey are taking over the 2-Ferrari slot on the DTM grid with Jack Aitken and Red Bull/Max Verstappen-sponsored Theirry Vermeulen behind the steering wheels.
Lastly, the final manufacturer on the grid is Lamborghini with 2 teams; SSR Perfomance and GRT (Grasser Racing Team). Mirko Bortolotti, Alessio Deledda and Franck Perrera are announced for SSR performance. GRT have announced Clemens Schmid and have yet to announce their second driver.
